Description
| Analysis Note | Agglutination activity is expressed in μg/ml and is determined from serial dilutions in phosphate buffered saline, pH7.2, of a 1 mg/ml solution. This activity is the lowest concentration to agglutinate a 2% suspension of human erythrocytes. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions | Erythrina corallodendron agglutinin (ECorA) is not blood group specific, but has an affinity for N-acetyllactosamine, N-acetyl-D-galactosamine, lactose and D-galactose.1,2 It is reported to exhibit mitogenic activity for human peripheral blood lymphocytes (predominantly Tcells).1,2 |
